I've really enjoyed having rudder pedals for additional realism in my X-plane flight sim for Mac and these get the job done. My initial response to them was not so great because they have a kind of, I don't know, rut they get into when they are centered, so it takes additional effort to push them out of center position before you can control them smoothly. This bugged me because it's not like the real thing, but I can see that it would be hard to keep them centered otherwise. With some practice, I've been able to get over it a bit and in X-plane you can assign a "null zone" where control input doesn't have any affect, so that helps prevent jarring movements in the game as you try to push the pedals out of the rut.

I also do not like that they have a lip at the bottom of the pedals to hold your foot up. This, again, is not like the real thing and normally you keep your feet on the floor (like in driving a car) when you're flying an airplane and don't need the brakes, but again with a little practice you can get used to this. The pedals do push down at the top for braking (at the risk of sounding redundant, this too is not like the real thing, but that's okay). The pedals come with two odd looking pieces of plastic you can place in the pedal tracks to convert them for use in driving games, which is a nice touch. With those pieces in place, the pedals will not move and you can use then for gas and brake pedals.

Bottom line--like most electronic gadgets I've bought, these pedals are not as cool as I had expected they would be, but they get the job done. I would recommend them if you want to add an additional layer of realism to your flight sim for flight training or just the cool feeling of taxiing a 747 to the runway.
